Church Printed below image: “Grace Methodist Church/ Milton, Delaware/ 1957” Printed on reverse: “Grace Methodist Church/ Milton, Delaware/ The first M.P. Church in Milton was es-/tablished about the middle of the nineteenth/ century, through the original efforts of/ Joseph Betts, a tailor of Milton, and his/ friend, Rev. Thomas A. Moore, of the Maryland/ M.P. Conference. Beginning October 22, 1857, meetings were held in the M.E. Church./ On land donated by William A. Hazzard the first church was built, and was dedicated./ Early in the twentieth century the building/ was enlarged and improved. The beautiful/ stained glass windows were donated by members/ and organizations. About 1925 the Social Hall was added and in 1940 the name Grace Methodist/ Church was adopted.”
